International Women’s Day: a date to claim the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.
In the art world, like other areas of culture, women have struggled for many years (and often continue to do so) to redefine their place.
Many women (and men who didn’t conform to the beauty standards and hegemonic models) were relegated by the history and that’s why, on behalf of Arena Martínez, we want to take advantage of this space to make the public aware of all the woman who have inspired us and supported this fashion brand during all this years, and our She-EO who makes it possible.
Marina Vargas
In our Mnemosyne collection, which means “mother of all muses” we have worked with a very special artist, Marina Vargas. She is known for her exhibitions and the symbology present in her works such as tarot cards.
Reinterpretation and questioning are two topics, that are very present in her work. She creates new models of beauty, which deviate from the classical standar and uses irony to create controversial situations that are in conflict with academic canons.
In her work, she incorporates topics such as sexuality, femininity, violence, love, chaos, desire and power. As an artist, she has taught us a lot and it is a true honor for us, to make a collection with her collaboration. We recommend you to learn more about her wonderful creations.

Susi Bag – tribute to the sweetness of women
Arena Martínez, designer and brand founder, has the clear idea that what she wants to provide is a unique creative breath to the spirit of fashion, representing evolution, transformation, authenticity and rebellion. It has always been her dream to create a space for the visibility of Spanish art and taking her works to other dimensions, working equally with men and women, and creating pieces with the aim to make our clients feel unique and special.
One of our bag collections “Macaroon Collection” has been a tribute to the sweetness and the curves of women. Also, our She-EO was inspired by the female body to create these “Susi mini bags” called by the designer’s mother name, Susi.
These bags are comfortable, original, and especially sweet as a mother. The pastel colors, sweet pinks and calm blues, invade these little candy, handmade by leather artisans from Ubrique, Spain.
Cova Ríos
We are also proud to have collaborated with the artist Cova Ríos, with whom we have made an unique and super exclusive hand-painted jewelry. Cova is a woman who has inspired us a lot with her work, we have managed to mix fashion and art in an exceptional way thanks to her quality in the handling of matter and color. An artist with a unique sensitivity that provide an exceptional perception, volume and proportion to her works.
